Terms of Service
The rules for using MiniXMart's campus marketplace — please read before you sign up.
Last updated: June 2026
1Who Can Use This
MiniXMart is a campus-only marketplace. To create an account you must be a current student at one of our supported colleges, and you must be old enough to enter a binding agreement under the law where you live. Accounts are personal — you may not create one on behalf of someone else, share your login, or buy/sell using a profile that isn't yours.
2Your Account & Verification
You can join two ways:
- College email: if your college's official domain is on file with us, signing up with that address verifies you instantly.
- Personal email + ID review: if it isn't, we verify you a different way — a one-time code sent to the email you entered, plus a photo of your college ID card, which a human reviewer checks (usually within a few hours). You can browse while this is pending, but selling and messaging unlock only once it's approved.
You're responsible for keeping your password private and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
3Listings & Skill Orders
When you list a product or a skill/service, you're promising that:
- you actually have the item or the ability to provide the service you're listing;
- the description, price, and photos are accurate and not misleading;
- the item or service is legal to sell and doesn't violate your college's own rules;
- you'll honor the listing if a buyer accepts it in good faith.
MiniXMart only hosts the listing and the chat between buyer and seller — every sale, exchange, and skill order is a direct agreement between the two of you. We are not a party to that transaction, don't take a cut, and don't guarantee delivery, condition, or quality.
4Payments
Two things on MiniXMart involve a payment screen: paying to feature a listing, and paying a seller for a skill order. Both work the same way — you send the amount via UPI/bank transfer to the details shown, then submit your transaction reference (UTR) and a screenshot for manual review. There is no in-app wallet and we never ask for your card number, CVV, OTP, or net-banking password — anyone asking for those isn't us.
Because review is manual, payments aren't confirmed instantly. If a payment is rejected — wrong/missing UTR, mismatched amount, unreadable screenshot — you'll be able to see the reason and resubmit.
5Payment Protection & Refunds
This section explains, concretely, what happens to your money in each situation. MiniXMart doesn't have a bank-grade escrow system — it's a solo student-run platform — but here's the actual process:
Skill orders. When you pay for a skill order, the payment goes to MiniXMart, not directly to the seller. It's held until you confirm you've received the work. Here's what happens from there:
- Seller declines your order: if the seller rejects your order after your payment was already approved, it's automatically flagged for a refund, and we send the full amount back to you via UPI. You don't need to do anything except check that it arrives — if it doesn't within a few days, contact us.
- Seller delivers and you're satisfied: once you confirm receipt, we release the payment to the seller (minus a small platform fee) via UPI.
- Seller accepts but goes unresponsive, or delivers something that doesn't match what was promised: there's no automated timeout or dispute button for this yet — contact us directly through the Support page with your order details. We'll step in manually: chase the seller, and refund you if it can't be resolved. We can't force a seller to deliver, but we won't leave you holding a payment for work that never happened.
Featured-listing payments. These aren't refundable once your listing is featured, since the feature period has already started running. If a payment is rejected before approval (wrong UTR, mismatched amount), you simply haven't been charged for anything — just resubmit with the correct details.
In every case: keep your UTR and payment screenshot until the transaction is fully resolved — it's the only proof we have of what you paid and when.
6Acceptable Use
Don't use MiniXMart to:
- list anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or prohibited by your college;
- harass, threaten, or send unsolicited content to other users in chat;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your college/identity;
- scrape, spam, or attempt to bypass rate limits, verification, or access controls;
- upload someone else's ID card, or a doctored/fake one, as your own.
We may remove content or restrict an account that violates these rules, with or without notice, depending on severity.
7No Warranty
MiniXMart is provided "as is." We don't promise the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we don't warrant the accuracy of any listing, the identity-verification outcome, or the conduct of any other user. ID-card text extraction (when used) is advisory only and is always reviewed by a human before any decision is made — it never decides verification on its own.
8Limitation of Liability
MiniXMart is built and maintained by a solo student founder, not a company with a dispute-resolution team. To the maximum extent the law allows, MiniXMart isn't liable for losses arising from a transaction between users, a misrepresented listing, a missed meetup, or any indirect or consequential damages connected to using the platform. For payment-related issues on a skill order, see Payment Protection & Refunds above. For everything else — a missed meetup, an item not as described, a disagreement over a product sale — resolve it directly with the other student involved; contact us only if the issue involves a violation of these Terms.
9Suspension & Account Removal
We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, fails verification, or is found to be fraudulent — including a rejected ID review where the photo doesn't match a genuine, legible college ID. You can also delete your own account at any time by contacting us; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
10Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as MiniXMart grows. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, let you know in-app. Continuing to use MiniXMart after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
